Murder Mysteries

I have a confession.
I have an obsession with murder mysteries.
It came to light after a conversation with my dad. I mean, I knew that I liked murder mysteries but once I started listing the ones I like to watch we realised just how bad it is…
Poirot, Murder She Wrote, CSI (all three), Midsummer Murders, NCIS, Cold Case, Columbo, Lewis, Diagnosis Murder, New Tricks, Inspector Morse, Silent Witness, Death In Paradise.. we watched an episode of Foyle’s War. I liked it, that’ll be added to my list now too!
I’m not sure why I’m drawn to them, it’s definitely not for the gore… I like the suspense, following the clues, trying to guess who it was that ‘did’ it I guess!
What is your secret obsession?

Perfect Day

(images via weheartit)
I have been working my butt off lately & with the sun shining its face too I have definitely been a little neglectful of this little corner of my universe! I had Saturday off & had a lovely day catching up with friends & I’ve been off today with mr J & chilling out this evening catching up with TV… Saturday lunchtime I met up with my friend Laura, whom I haven’t seen for about a year! We had lunch at a favourite place of mine, The Oxford Retreat, caught some sun & a had a good catch up. Saturday night I went to the local Tapas bar with some work friends & it was fantastic! The food was delicious & the company hilarious, but no one took a camera, doh! Here’s one of me & Laura though…
Today Mr J & I went clothes shopping at TK Maxx… conscience free shopping! TK Maxx sell end-of-the-line stuff & clothes that haven’t sold in the sales that would otherwise go to a landfill. I picked up a cute floaty top & some faded grey skinny jeans, Mr J got himself a checked shirt, he is most pleased! Mr J had to work tonight so I’ve been catching up on my favourite TV… Murder She Wrote, NCIS, Cold Case… (I’m a TV murder junkie!)… back to work tomorrow, but for now… a perfect day xox

Today…

I have been a busy little bee! Up at 8.30 am on my day off! Spent an hour this morning reading my favourite blogs over marmite on toast & a cup of tea & then got a mad urge to clean the kitchen! So busy i got with some hot water, tea tree oil & vinegar (old school) & showed Mr J how to clean a microwave the easy way! I caught up with The Vampire Diaries, recorded Murder She Wrote (I’m watching that in a minute!) & uploaded my latest photographs… 1. cute ornaments I thrifted whilst in Norfolk, 2. me in my Pineapple dress (taking pictures of yourself is awkward!), 3. pretty napkins that I also got in Norfolk. 4. is a onesie that I’ve done a very childlike design on… (shouldv’e ironed it before I took this pic!) my plan is to add some embroidery to it too so it’s a Work In Progress, 5. is another WIP, I’m just tidying it up but I like it alot & I think there will be more of these to come! Final pic is a finished necklace (yay!) available here… Off to relax now! xox

Angela Lansbury…

… wasn’t always Jessica Fletcher! I decided to look through Google Images & found these shots of her looking young & lovely as an MGM starlet… what an incredibly versatile & talented woman… she’s had a hugely successful Broadway career too.
Angela Lansbury is my idol!

Chill Out Time…

So I had a day off today (no, not because of the snow, just because it was my day off!) so I’ve had a massive chill out day. I slept in til midday then Mr J made me a cuppa & boiled my eggs so that I could make myself egg mayo & cheese sandwiches for brunch (my favourite!) then I showered & went thrifting & food shopping. Score!!!

One jumper, long, v-neck, with grey stripes, very cute, one emerald green vest top & a cute pink laced cardigan all for less than £10! I also picked up a small photo album that I’m going to have an attempt at recovering. I promise pictures eventually!!!

Shopping slog over it was time for a very serious amount of tv…

This has to be one of my all time favourite tv shows! I love Jessica!

Then I watched Pan’s Labyrinth. I’ve never seen it before it was a darker than I thought, but what a beautiful movie. I cried.
Something’s Gotta Give… what can I say? It’s funny. And I love Diane Keaton!

Off to bed for me now… Mr J will be home soon xoxox
