Here’s what I’ve been up to the last couple of days between shifts… there’s more to come folks!

Five images saved on my laptop… 1. Me! Maybe aged seven-ish? (Mum! Any idea?) when I was in the Brownies. I’m feeling the Red Indian dressing-up vibe… might be fun to do for my birthday this year! 2. tattoo picture I found on Favim. I love tattoos… I have two, a daisy & a butterfly. 3. My favourite ring! Courtesy of Topshop. 4. Katy Perry in a very cute cherry dress. Love it! 5. Red Bamboo Coral earrings that I made yesterday. Available here.
I am working a double shift today so I’m looking forward to tomorrow! Hope you’ve all had a lovely weekend.

So I’ve mentioned my earring making stint previously here & below are some (not all!) of the fruits of my labour…
I also made a pair with aventurine chips but I gave them to my friend Faye to match her green eyes! The last pair is the pair I wore to this wedding but the first two pairs will be available in my Etsy shop when I go live. I love doing these wire-wrapped gemstone earrings, they’re so simple to make & very pretty. Once I’ve got some new supplies in I’ll put together a D-I-Y tutorial for you!
(The fruits of my efforts a couple of summers ago).
*Keep an eye on my sidebar
today the ‘Grab A Book’ list will be going IS up! See here for details xox
**UPDATE: Earrings in pictures 1 & 2 now available in my Etsy shop!

|Rebecca @ Consider My Dear
1. A drawing a day… my Art & design course starts in September & in my interview the tutor stressed how important simply drawing is & said that mine was weak (it is!) & that I needed to practise over the summer. One of Leigh-Ann’s draw-a-longs might come in pretty handy!
2. Make up some more earrings using up my current stash ready for sale.
3. Go to an art exhibition… perhaps the Joan Miro exhibition at The Tate Modern?
4. Get the bridal necklace for this beautiful lady ready for their September wedding!
5. Finally get a good camera!
What’s on your ‘To Do’ list for the rest of summer?

This weeks Friday Fashion is all about jewellery… absolutely adore the last ring… amazing! Jewellery is all I can think about right now. I’ve made earrings all week & am now having to design 4 necklaces… 1 wedding necklace & 3 gifts that all have to be person-specific. Totally failing to do what I promised myself here
I still haven’t bought a new battery for my camera but pix of the earrings will be here soon I promise!
I’m baking lasagne tonight for Drummer Boy & his daughter, Alia, which always goes down a treat… My version is dead simple, I make my own sauce but cheat on the white sauce step! You need…
onions (or spring onions)
mushrooms (sssshhhhh, don’t tell Alia!)
dried herbs – oregano, ‘italian seasoning’
Method: *Fry off chopped garlic & onion is vegetable oil (or sunflower or olive oil), add mince beef & brown. *Pour in tomato passata, add fresh basil & dried herbs, simmer… *Add roughly chopped streaky bacon… *Add sliced peppers & mushrooms… *Allow to simmer & thicken & add a good glug of worcester sauce. *Once meat sauce is ready spoon a layer into the bottom of an oven dish… layer over with lasagne sheets… *next spoon over a layer of creme fraiche & top with grated parmesan… *repeat until everything is used up then finish off with a top layer of grated cheddar & parmesan… *pop in the oven for roughly an hour et voila! Scrummy lasagne!

Last night I made some earrings similar to these except with golden tone wire & findings.. I made a pair with Snowflake Obsidian, a pair in Aventurine & some in Haematite. I’ll be doing a photoshoot asap. The pair above are some Tigers Eye earrings that I made a couple of years ago.
I also finished watching The Devil’s Whore last night starring the very beautiful Andrea Riseborough & the brilliant John Simm, a favourite actor of mine ever since The Lakes on BBC about ten years ago! TDW is set back in the day of King Charles & Oliver Cromwell & tells the true (& very sad) story of Lady Angelica Fanshawe… married 3 times & each one died. It’s very well acted & definitely worth a watch! It’s available on channel 4 on demand if anyone fancies it.
I was blown away by these this morning, found over at Find, Make, Do
they are both made from carrier bags… I think the coral-type one is beautiful. Pop over to have a look at more carrier-bag installations.
I also fell in love with this today whilst over at Inside A Black Apple. Emily has done a series of 12 paintings all inspired by Alice In Wonderland… marvellous!
Here is Week 4 of 8 Weeks To A Better Me… all about learning to love yourself, something that most people do struggle with. I’m going to count myself very lucky here & say that actually my self-image is pretty good. I was blessed with a very strong-willed & opinionated mother who taught me & my brother to believe in ourselves, to be self-reliant & to not care what other people think. It is harder not to care what others think as you get older (or so I’ve found) but on the whole she gave me a pretty good grounding & I’m generally pretty nice to myself! Thanks mum x
